Polocrosse is as Australian as Aussie rules!

It is Australia’s home grown horse sport that is now played around the world.

The Oakbank Polocrosse Club was formed in 2010.

It was established with a vision to support each member achieve their full potential and to promote the sport more widely to horse enthusiasts.

To that end, the club is focused on its members and providing them with opportunities to improve their horse skills and their game strategies.

The club also expects that members will uphold the values of the club on the field and off, demonstrating sportsmanship at all times to other teams, coaches, umpires and supporters.

Our home base is currently the Adelaide Polo Club grounds at Mt Barker (corner of Barker Road and Fidler Lane)

Polocrosse is fast, technically skillful and it promotes the highest level of horsemanship among people of all ages.

The game is a combination of lacrosse, netball and polo and is played over four or six chukkas of six minutes. Teams comprise six players.

Three players from each team line up against each other to play a chukka. Each team has a goal shooter, a goal defender and a centre, similar to netball.

At the end of the six minutes, the first players leave the field and the next six line up.

The aim of the game is to score as many goals as possible.
