Polocrosse is a Truly Australian Made Sport!

It was developed in Australia in 1939 by Mr and Mrs Edward Hirst of Sydney.  As the name itself implies, Polocrosse is a combination of polo, lacrosse and netball.  It is played on horseback, each rider using a cane stick, made up of a polo stick shaft to which is attached a squash racquet type head with a loose twisted-thread net, in which the ball is carried.

It is a team sport played by male and female riders of all ages and abilities often with generations of families playing together, few sports can boast this achievement.

South Australia embraced the sport around 1948 Northfield was one of its first clubs.
